Gloucester
Cathedral
Since
1985,
Graham has been a glazing conservator at Gloucester
Cathedral.

He
is called in to undertake all repairs
to vandalized windows and any other damage needing attention.
Most of the work is planned as part of on-going
restoration in connection with stone
repairs.
Major work has
included:
Complete
restoration
and conservation of the Great
East Window
Removal
and re-leading of S.
Aisle window
Re-leading
of buckled sections of Christopher Whall
Glass from the S. Side of the Lady Chapel
Repairs
to vandalised windows in N. Ambulatory,
East Window Lady Chapel (medieval)
and S. Side Lady Chapel (C. Whall).
In recent years
we have been involved in restoration work to:-

Clerestory windows (N. and S. Sides)

roof void windows
The
Great East Window to the Quire
The
Tribune Gallery
(S. Side)

These latter projects have involved cleaning,
removal of sections for re-leading,
overhaul of casements, re-cementing
and removal of corroding internal
saddle bars and replacement
with non-ferrous bars. |
